No Turbo Without a 1.8T Turbo Manifold
Unlike vehicles that are not "supercharged" by a turbo, the turbo manifold, also called the exhaust manifold, has the task of directing the exhaust gases. Not into the exhaust system to be emitted as emissions, but directly into the turbocharger to drive it. Thus, the exhaust gases are led away from the engine. Incidentally, the turbo manifold gets its name from its curved shape, in order to pass the horizontally emitted exhaust gas from the cylinder head downwards.
This process occurs under strong thermal loads since the engine heats up to high temperatures in a very short time after starting. For this reason, our exhaust manifolds are made in a metal mold from high-quality cast and then CNC-machined, which is characterized by a high precision fit. Unlike tube manifolds, this one is more durable. The flange to the cylinder head is slotted to allow the manifold to expand, thus preventing cracking.
Precision-fit and super sturdy
To cater to a wide range of car types, we have compiled an especially large selection of 1.8 T turbo manifolds for you. Suitable for all Audi / Skoda, Seat, and VW 1.8T engines for upgrading to a larger turbocharger, our selection only features parts of high-quality. Because only those who meet the standards can guarantee safe driving pleasure. Of course, you also get the appropriate accessories – whether it's manifold gaskets or screws - just click through our online store. As a rule, all standard turbos for the vehicle of the respective article fit the manifold. Simply replace the old manifold with the new one – quickly and cleanly. However, to ensure the turbo manifold works flawlessly, it is important to pay close attention to the dimensions and precision fit of the respective element in the product description.
When an Upgrade Becomes Necessary
Each 1.8T turbo manifold is designed so that its pipes lead into a so-called collector pipe. Each car has both exhaust and intake manifolds. However, problems and damages generally occur with the exhaust manifold. Typical for this type of construction are cracks that lead to a leaky manifold. Driving vibrations, sudden temperature fluctuations, and worn-out seals can be reasons for necessary repairs. If you as a driver notice faulty measurements at the lambda probe, the smell of exhaust inside the car, a louder noise level at the engine, or a loss of performance, these could be symptoms of a leaky turbo manifold – but in case of need, we are here for you with our range!
Larger pipe diameters allow for performance increases of up to 10 percent. Flange slotted for crack resistance, cast for high load capacity, or models with a wastegate connection – here you get the 1.8T turbo manifold you are looking for.
We are constantly working to make finding the right parts as convenient as possible for you. Therefore, all upgrades are visible at a glance under the category 1.8T Tuning – also simply choose your vehicle type and take a look at our range.
