Tuning for Audi A3 8L 1.8T + Quattro, 1.9 TDI + Quattro, and 3.2L Quattro

We offer a wide range of tuning parts for the Audi A3 8L 1.8T + Quattro, 1.9 TDI + Quattro, and 3.2L Quattro. Most parts are plug and play, i.e., the original part is replaced, and the tuning part is reinstalled without alteration or with minimal adjustment. This saves a lot of work, money, and time.

Turbochargers

The heart of the 1.8T, besides the engine, is the Turbocharger. We offer various upgrade turbochargers such as the K04-001 with a larger compressor wheel, turbine wheel, and reinforced wastegate, because weaker wastegates can't hold the boost pressure at a certain level and start to flutter, hence stronger wastegates are needed. As a rule of thumb, from an opening pressure of 0.5 bar, the wastegate can realize a holding pressure of approx. 1.3 bar and then starts to flutter. With this, max. 300HP is possible. The turbocharger is visually nearly indistinguishable from the original. We stock original Borgwarner as well as our own brand "Turbo-parts.de" which we have been successfully selling for over 13 years. These are all finely balanced and have a long lifespan. To ensure the turbocharger receives enough exhaust gases, a correspondingly larger exhaust manifold is required. Here, we also have upgrade manifolds with a larger pipe cross-section that are simply exchanged against the original manifold. For conversions with universal turbochargers such as GT28 Turbo or GT30 etc., a manifold is needed that has the appropriate flange T25 or T3, these are also in our range. If your exhaust housing for your original turbo or upgrade turbo is cracked/defective, you can also purchase it from us.

Having just the turbocharger is not enough. Naturally, the surrounding parts also need to be swapped so that the optimal performance can be extracted from the engine.

Exhaust Technology

To generate as little back pressure as possible, Downpipes with a larger pipe diameter e.g., 76mm are needed so that the turbo is relieved and less back pressure is generated. We also offer these with TÜV and with 200 cell or 100 cell sport catalytic converters.

To achieve a resonant sound and to allow enough exhaust gases to escape, we have various sport exhaust systems usually from Simons from Sweden with EU approval, meaning they do not need to be registered and can be used legally on public roads.

Intake

With upgrade turbochargers or in performance-enhanced engines, the original boost hoses tend to collapse, leading to a loss of performance. We offer silicone hoses reinforced with fabric materials, e.g., intake hoses or boost hoses, that can withstand the performance. To achieve more airflow, sports air filters and larger intake manifolds ensure optimal ventilation. Blow-off valves, also known as Pop-Off or SUV, are essential for the 1.8T, they must also be closed there, otherwise, the air mass meter lacks the air diverted into the atmosphere during calculation. Therefore, open valves with the original injection system are not suitable for the 1.8T.

Power Transmission

To transmit the power to the road, sport clutches are essential. We have complete kits with single mass flywheels, pressure plates, friction disc with organic lining, and release bearings that are also suitable for street use, spring-loaded sintered metal discs are also suitable for the road only non-sprung ones are more recommended for motorsport.

Cooling

To get cool air into the engine, a larger intercooler kit or an upgrade intercooler is needed, because cooler air is denser and contains more air mass which again leads to more performance. Especially in summer or during longer highway drives, this makes a noticeable difference. For conversions with replacement turbochargers, other oil and water lines are then also needed. For water cooling, we offer full aluminum radiators which are more stable than the original ones with plastic tanks.

Engine Technology

To ensure the engine can withstand certain performances, forged pistons are installed. Good experiences were had with JE-Pistons and Wiseco.
