The operating principle is quite simple:

In the closed state, the exhaust gases are directed through the muffler, and once the flap is open, a part goes through a continuous pipe, thus making the exhaust louder. The vacuum-controlled flap is closed in the vacuum area, which then opens as the vacuum decreases or goes into positive pressure for turbo engines. A hose is laid from the intake manifold to the vacuum capsule of the flap or the flap is controlled by a remote control or switch. For this, a pulse valve is installed in the hose.
