The intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The aim of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, more air mass can enter the combustion chamber at the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, thus increasing performance and efficiency. The lower the charge air temperature, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger because it requires less rotational speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust gas values, provided that the engine control unit is adapted accordingly. It is important to ensure that the intercooler receives as much airflow as possible. The coolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When choosing, it should be ensured that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this would negatively affect response, nor should it be too small. The intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast housings, has five M8 threaded mounting points, and a bar and plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 Bar before delivery.
