Description:

The upgrade intercooler is installed in the wheel well, between the turbocharger and intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the compressed air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, more air mass can enter the combustion chamber at the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, thus increasing performance and efficiency. The lower the intake air temperature, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger, as the turbocharger requires less RPM for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided that the engine control unit is adapted accordingly. It is important to ensure that the intercooler receives as much airflow as possible. The intercoolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and petrol engines. When making a selection, care should be taken to ensure that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this will affect response, and it should not be too small either. The intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast housings and features a bar and plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
