- The water cooling reduces the temperature of the charge air by more than 30°C compared to conventional intercoolers. This results in a 10% increase in performance at the same boost pressure. The response is more aggressive due to the short intercooler paths.

Description:

The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, a larger mass of air enters the combustion chamber at the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned. This increases the power and efficiency. The lower the charge air temperature, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger because it requires less rpm to achieve the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided that the control unit is adjusted accordingly. When using a water-cooled intercooler, it is important to install a sufficiently large water cooler with a pump. The intercoolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting, care should be taken that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this will affect the response, but it should not be too small either. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is entirely made of aluminum with cast boxes and has a barn plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
