Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The goal of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, more air mass can enter the combustion chamber at the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, increasing power and efficiency. The lower the intake air temperature, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger, as the turbocharger requires less RPM for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced, and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided that the control unit is adjusted accordingly. When using a water-cooled intercooler, it is important to use the largest possible water cooler with a pump. The coolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting, care should be taken not to choose an intercooler that is too large for the engine, as this would affect response, but it should also not be too small. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum, with cast housings and a bar and plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
