Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The goal of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, more air mass can enter the combustion chamber at the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, resulting in increased power and efficiency. The lower the intake air temperature, the less thermal stress on the engine and turbocharger, as the turbocharger requires less speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced, and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust gas values, provided that the engine control unit is adjusted accordingly. When using a water-cooled intercooler, it is important to install a sufficiently large water cooler with a pump. The coolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When choosing an intercooler, make sure it is not too large for the engine, as this will affect the response behavior, and it should not be too small either. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast housings and has a bar and plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
