Tuning for Seat Leon 1M Cupra 1.8T + All-Wheel Drive, 1.9 TDI + Syncro, and 2.8L 24v
We offer a wide range of tuning parts for the Seat Leon 1M Cupra 1.8T + All-Wheel Drive, 1.9 TDI + Syncro, and 2.8L 24v.
Most parts are plug and play, i.e., the original part is replaced, and the tuning part is installed without modification or with minimal adjustment. This saves a lot of work, money, and time.
Turbochargers
Besides the engine, the heart of the 1.8T is the turbocharger. We offer various upgrade turbochargers like the K04-001 with a larger compressor wheel, turbine wheel, and reinforced wastegate , as weaker wastegates cannot maintain boost pressure at a certain level and start fluttering, thus stronger wastegates are necessary. As a rule of thumb, a wastegate with an opening pressure of 0.5 Bar can realize a holding pressure of about 1.3 Bar and then starts fluttering. With this setup, up to 300PS is possible. The turbocharger is visually hardly distinguishable from the original. We have original Borgwarner models as well as our own brand "Turbo-parts.de" which we have been successfully selling for over 13 years. These are all finely balanced and have a long lifespan. For the turbocharger to receive enough exhaust gas, a corresponding large exhaust manifold is required. Here, we also offer upgrade manifolds with a larger pipe cross-section which are simply exchanged against the original manifold. For conversions with universal turbochargers e.g., GT28 Turbo or GT30 etc., a manifold with the matching flange T25 or T3 is required, which we also have in our range. If your exhaust housing for your original or upgrade turbo is cracked/damaged, you can also purchase it from us.
It's not done with just the turbocharger. Of course, the surrounding parts must also be exchanged to maximize the engine's power.
Exhaust Technology
To generate as little exhaust back pressure as possible, Downpipes with a larger pipe diameter e.g. 76mm are required to relieve the turbo and reduce exhaust back pressure. We also offer these with TÜV approval and with 200 cell or 100 cell sports catalytic converters.
To achieve a rich sound and to allow sufficient exhaust gas to escape, we have various sports exhaust systems typically from Simons in Sweden with EC approval, meaning they do not need to be registered and can be legally used on the road.
Intake
With upgraded turbochargers or performance-enhanced engines, the original charge air hoses tend to collapse, leading to power loss. We offer silicone hoses e.g., intake hoses or charge air hoses that can withstand the performance. To achieve more airflow, performance air filters and larger intake manifolds ensure optimal ventilation. Blow-off valves also known as Pop-Off or SUV, are essential for the 1.8T; they must also be closed, otherwise, the air meter is missing the air diverted into the atmosphere in its calculation. Therefore, open valves are not suitable for the 1.8T with the original injection system.
Power Transmission
To transmit the power to the road, sports clutches are essential. We have complete kits with single-mass flywheel, pressure plate, friction disc with organic covering and release bearing which are also street-legal, spring-loaded sintered metal discs are also suitable for the street, only un-sprung ones are more recommended for motorsport.
Cooling
To get cool air into the engine, a larger intercooler kit or an upgrade intercooler is required, as cooler air is denser and contains more air mass which again leads to more power. This becomes noticeable especially in summer or during longer highway drives. For conversions with exchange turbochargers, other oil and water lines are required. For water cooling, we offer full aluminum radiators which are more stable than the originals with plastic tanks.
