Description:

At our place, you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, ensuring that the turbos are authentic. Garrett is amongst the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects its turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always receive a top-quality product. This includes a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Lab, thrust bearing test, maximal tolerance inspection of the bearing system, material fatigue, a vibration test, etc.

The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball-bearing, finely balanced, and oil and water-cooled. There’s also the older T series which are mostly journal bearing. The GTX series differs from the normal GT by having a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, leading to increased power and slightly better responsiveness. It’s important for ball-bearing turbochargers not to receive excessive oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm hole is used. A ball-bearing turbo typically responds about 400-500 RPM sooner than a journal-bearing one.
