Description:

At our shop, you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, ensuring the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects turbos to multiple qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. This includes a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Lab, thrust bearing test, maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is conducted, etc.

The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, precision balanced, and oil and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the normal GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades leading to more power and slightly better response. It is important for the ball bearing turbochargers not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm opening is used. A ball bearing turbo compared has an approximately 400-500 RPM faster response than a sleeve bearing turbo.
