The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing, finely balanced, and oil and water-cooled. There is also the older T series, which are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the standard GT in that it features a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, leading to increased power and slightly better responsiveness. Its important for ball bearing turbos not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an Oil Restrictor with a 0.9mm hole is used. A ball-bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a sleeve bearing one.
