    The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, finely balanced, and feature oil and water cooling. The older generation T series usually have journal bearings. The GTX series differs from the standard GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, leading to more power and somewhat better response. Its important for ball bearing turbochargers not to receive too much oil pressure. Hence, an Oil Restrictor with 0.9mm bore is used. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a journal bearing one.
