Description:With us, you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. A 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Lab is conducted, as well as a thrust bearing test, maximum bearing system tolerance check, material fatigue, and a vibration test, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball-bearing, precision-balanced, and oil and water-cooled. There is also the older T series which are mostly journal bearing. The GTX series differs from the regular GT in that it has a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades leading to more power and a slightly better response. Its important for ball-bearing turbos not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm hole is used. A ball-bearing turbo typically responds about 400-500 RPM sooner than a journal bearing one. For selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or verify directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There you will find all details such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings.
