Description:At our store, you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We procure these from Garrett distributors, ensuring the turbos are genuine. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers submitting their turbos through several qualification tests, meaning you always receive a top-notch product. A 1000-hour durability test is conducted on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Lab, alongside thrust bearing tests, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked, as well as material fatigue, and a vibration test is performed, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball-bearings, precisely balanced, and oil and water-cooled. The older generation T series are mostly sleeve bearings. The GTX series differs from the standard GT by having a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades leading to higher performance and slightly better responsiveness. Its essential for ball-bearing turbochargers not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball-bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a journal-bearing turbo. When selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or check directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. All information like exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings are available there.
