Description:Here you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, thus you can be sure that the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always receive a top product. A 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Lab is conducted, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is performed, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, finely balanced and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly journal bearing. The GTX series differs from the standard GT in that they feature a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, leading to higher performance and slightly better response. It is important for the ball bearing turbocharger not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm hole is used. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a journal bearing one. When selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or check directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There, all specifications such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings are available.
