Description:
With us, you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, ensuring the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always receive a top product. This includes a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Laboratory, thrust bearing test, checking the maximum tolerance of the bearing system and material fatigue, a vibration test, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, precision balanced, and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the standard GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades leading to increased performance and a slightly better response. It is important for ball-bearing turbos not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball-bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a sleeve bearing one. For selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or check directly on the manufacturers homepage http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There you will find all information such as turbine housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings.
