Description:At our store, you will receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be assured that the turbos are genuine. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that submit the turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. It includes a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Lab, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked, as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is carried out etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball-bearing, finely balanced, and oil and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the normal GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, leading to increased performance and slightly better response. It is important for ball-bearing turbochargers that they do not receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an Oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball-bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM earlier than a sleeve bearing one. For the selection of the right turbocharger, consult us or verify directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There, all details such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings are available.
